Southern trees bear a strange fruit Blood on the leaves and blood at the root Black bodies swinging in the southern breeze Strange fruit hanging from the poplar trees Pastoral scene of the gallant South The bulging eyes and the twisted mouth Scent of magnolia, sweet and fresh Then the sudden smell of burning flesh Here is a fruit for the crows to pluck For the rain to gather, for the wind to suck For the sun to rot, for the tree to drop Here is a strange and bitter crop American strange fruit Blood on the pavement Blood on the cuffs Black and brown skin is a crime in the eye of the law of the flawed and diseased Strange Fruit falls bleeds & spills in the land of the free from the mountains to the prairies to the oceans white with hate children with brown skin now tortured and raped in American cells to this very fucking day! Children with black skin beaten and killed by police that swore to protect and to serve constant hate for living while black constant hate For the native skin Of the land of the brave Here is the fruit that that the vultures indulge on For the jails to house For the profit margins For the 1% one nation under a corporate god All hail the dividends No liberty No justice No peace Here is the ugly and bitter truth
I wish that we never had to be judged But if we must be May it be by the substance of our hearts Rather than the color of our skin I wish that we could know what it would feel like For once to be truly free In this land of the so called “free” But they have the authority With glaring transparency to kill all minorities Through blatant impunity Every day brings the risk to pay with with our lives for living while black Through the night Every night Through the day Every day All the time Every time Every day brings the risk to pay with with our lives for living while black Child rapists receive sympathy From the President of the United States Our government locks up refugee children Deports American citizens Base on the color of their skin Sends unmarked troops To instigate violence To silence dissent To silence our speech Illegal profiteers Bankroll their campaign To profit from incarceration Of all minorities Every day brings the risk to pay with with our lives for living while black This might be a moment For you But it’s a movement To us We, back bone of this nation And you might steal our cultures Our fashion, cuisine and beauty But you will never steal our hearts And our determination

August 11th, 2020: In support of the Black Lives Matter movement, the relentless fight for civil rights by the ACLU and in remembrance of the Watts Riots that began and took place in Los Angeles as a response to widespread mistreatment and police brutality towards African Americans by the LAPD 55 years ago on August 11th, 1965, Crunch Pod presents the debut single "STRANGE FRUIT" from the project COLORED VENIN. Featuring members and artists of experimental industrial projects, THEODORE THE BLACKSMITH, NDSTRY & MANUFACTURA
